Tonight I went out with one of my front runners from Thursday. Not one of the guys that made it back to my place but one that I was actually interested in going on a date. We met a Brix Wine Cafe in Kirkland for happy hour and ended up staying for dinner. It was a completely last minute date brought on by some flirtatious emails during the day. I was flattered that he ‘moved some things around’ to meet with me. His plans could have been a date with the Dancing with the Stars finale and he just needed to confirm he could actually set Tivo from his computer, but I liked that he made me feel important.
As I mentioned, we met last Thursday at the Tap House downtown. I was flirting with his friend but he was just a little more aggresive and ended up winning my attention. I like a man that is confident and can be a bit on the aggressive side. I like being chased.
There was so much going on the night we met (code for – so many freakin MEN that night) that I didn’t get the chance to get this mans story. I was pleasantly surprised to find out he is a CFO with a good size company that has been in business for over 50 years. So yes, I will call him “CFO”. He does have two kids but they are teenagers and therefore busy with their own lives. So far, I like! We had great conversation during dinner and I thought he was really fun.
I’m a huge fan of comedy so when I was trolling around online looking for Billy Wayne Davis (yes, I still have a thing for him. I think he has to know my address before filing a restraining order). I looked at the calendar for Laughs Comedy Spot in Kirkland (where BWD is supposed to be June 11-13 but it is not listed….think he is trying to throw me off??) and found that tonight was their open mic night. Settle down, I wasn’t thinking I could jump up there….I thought $2 jello shots and $4 apps?? I’m IN!
Now all this frugality was waaay before I had a date scheduled. By now you realize I am baby on a budget (BOB) only on my dime. The funny thing was, I still really wanted to go, even on a date. I know I’ve mentioned it before, I had a friend back home that performed every other week in an improv group. OMG they were so good. (Although it is old and my dear friend is no longer with this group…I must include this video. It was one of my favorites although video does not do it justice)
I miss having that in my life on a regular basis. I love to laugh. I know, people use that as much as they say they are a “real people person” (that’s code for slut).
Laughs Comedy Spot was fun and we had a really good time. CFO gave me a hug and a few kisses (no makeout) at the end of the night. He assured me he had a great time but that he has a really busy schedule right now. Tell me about it; I’m a professional dater!! I did inform him that our recession friendly first date was an anomaly and he laughed like that was a joke. Maybe that was just a left over chuckle from the evening?
So I headed home and caught the Real Housewives of New Jersey. Jesus, they just keep finding crazier bitches every season….I am ADDICTED already!!
